The beauty of old games

There is no gamer that hasn't played an old game or at least a game that has an old story.

Many of you may remember playing games like Super Mario (this is like the default game) and other racing games/sports/fps. Starcraft I, some FIFA games, Medal of Honor and who knows what else ...

I finished Mafia II months ago and now with the news that Mafia III is in development and that it is going to be set again somewhere in the 50's maybe 60's made me think about how great (of course that it's also developers job) old times story games are. I mean Mafia II was the greatest game by this kind i've ever played. And one major factor that counts is the music. The main theme (the one that starts once you're in the main menu) still gives me goose bumps. I used to let the song play for several seconds/minutes before playing ... it gives you an addictive feeling and makes you even more determined to play the game.

The way you can explore the old  times ... seeing old cars, how people where acting in those times, what clothes they wore how different cities looked like (New York in Mafia II and Los Angeles in L.A. Noire) makes me love these kind of games. I think i always liked to know more about old times and by using games this gives you a more special feeling.

Rockstar released trailers in which they stated they have whole crews working on studying documents and maps from 1940's L.A. to make the game as realistic as possible. And they really did a great job.

Mafia III is going to be another big hit and i will play it for sure. Rockstar also stated that there is going to be a L.A. Noire 2. So more cool games by this kind to come.
