Global information
There have been rumors about a new Battlefield series spin-off other than Bad Company 3 for a long time. It would have something to dowith SWAT. Well, nothing is more true! Code name "Omaha" information started to leak out and within a day EA had officially announced the game. The game is being published by Electronic Arts (EA). It will run on the Frostbite 3 engine.
EA Vice President and General Manager, Steve Papoutsis tweeted the following:
"On behalf of everyone at EA and Visceral Games, I’m fired up to confirm our next project –Battlefield Hardline. The game launches this fall and it’s a brand new series in the Battlefield franchise, set against the backdrop of a genre we all love – the war on crime and the battle between cops and criminals."

Singleplayer
It will, of course, be a first-person shooter, but not anything like you know the Battlefield franchise for. No more military vs military vs terrorists twists. It's all-out modern street warfare, it's SWAT (police) vs Thieves (criminals)! The Singleplayer is developed by Visceral Games, also known for several James Bond games and the Dead Space game series.
Modern day special police forces are fighting crime. You play as Nick Mendoza, a young Miami detective who gets caught up in a few personal moral dilemmas. He embarks on a cross-country quest to seek revenge against once trusted partners on the police force.
Many characters are casted by actors from shows like Justified, The Americans, and House of Cards.
Environments are wider and more open. Enemy AI has been redesigned from the ground up. Episodes (missions) can be played various times and in various ways. You can use Nick's police scanner to scan for suspects and even arrest suspects with outstanding warrants for extra money for in-game unlocks.
Two of the (possibly more?) factions within the game. The SWAT (police/special police unit) and the Thieves (criminals/terrorists/thieves)
Multiplayer
The Multiplayer is the heart of the game, you'll be able to play it for hundreds and hundreds of hours. It is developed by DICE.
Battlefield: Hardline features a whole new variety of gameplay that breaks away from the traditional Battlefield games.
The game modes include:
-Heist: Cops must stop criminals from blowing open a bank vault and making off with the loot.
-Rescue: SWAT forces move into hostile territory to rescue hostages during a robbery gone wrong.
-Hotwire: Cops pursue criminals through huge, open environments depicting a high-speed chase in muscle cars and police cruisers. Both sides are trying to kill off eachother.
-Bloodmoney: Cops and criminals fight over a large pile of money that they must secure and take back to their safe house.
There are several Multiplayer classes:
-Professional: comparable with the BF4 Sniper class.
-Operator: comparable with the BF4 Assault class.
-Mechanic: comparable with the BF4 Engineer class.
-Enforcer: comparable with the BF4 Support class.
The game will be revealed during E3 and will be in stores Autumn this year! Pre-orders starting now. It will be released for PS3, PS4, Xbox360, Xbox One and PC.
