Ghost Recon 2

Written by luuk on Sunday, 22 November 2009 10:33.

The game world is now a big name Tom Clancy. Who knows the successful franchises like Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon is not? In Splinter Cell is all about sneaking, but Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon are both tactical shooters. Where Rainbow Six takes place in cities and buildings look the Ghosts on the open nature. Similarly, in their second adventure.

Ghosts are super trained soldiers of the U.S. Army. They are dropped by a helicopter, stalking the enemy, move everyone out and then disappear silent. In Ghost Recon 2 you take the leader of a team of four Ghosts under your care, Scott Mitchell. He has always had a reputation for his people back home in one piece, but if there is a third world war to come with North Korea and Russia would ever change.
In 2011, North Korea remains a dictatorship. Kim Jong Il is dead and the country has no leader more. There is a great famine and the General Jung seizes power. All rescue the country he used to coming in to form a strong army, but his arms smugglers in Beijing, China are caught and the army without weapons. Then connect a general alliance with Russia, which the General's wish to support. A severe famine affects the North Korean people again and the whole army general gets owned. He gives China and the blame falls on the land. China sends his army North Korea but dares not to attack, because Russia has nuclear weapons. The help of international forces to invoke the border between North Korea and China to defend, but the Ghosts are sent out to the general finding and disabling and his army to shut down.

The 15 missions of the Ghosts by a frame story told. The Ghost Squad is a television program "Modern Heroes" and tell about their experiences in North Korea and thus the mission then you will play. So give them a little briefing and then you in the shoes of Captain Mitchell placed. A very original way of brief.
The campaign of Ghost Recon 2 will continue in various mission objectives, but you can loose the game as such mission in firefight, which you just have to kill everyone, or Recon, Mission, Lone Wolf and Defend play. In Lone Wolf you need a whole army by yourself off and there you have a gun superfuturische for your disposal. This can take over or hurdle and corner, and a gun camera in the helmet and then you see if you can establish yourself while you can not be touched. You can also invoke a bombing of a jet.

There are quite a number of changes to the first Ghost Recon. Thus the game became much fuller measure. You are with your squad and gets dropped immediately to hear that you should disable a machine gun post. If you have arrived there is that you expect from your one helicopter from the air gets to the machine gun and then you must hurry back because a bunker must be conquered. The pace is much higher and so is the game that unrealistic. The hardcore shooter fans are not so happy, but with Ubisoft Ghost Recon 2 is more towards the masses but this is certainly an improvement over the first part.
The schedule is out of play left. In Ghost Recon 1 was walking routes so you do plan on a map, but there is still only the card over to see where to go. Also in this section can only play with Captain Mitchell, you can no longer switch between soldiers and can not decide who goes into a mission and who not.
Besides, you control the game no longer entirely in first-person. If you just walk around look over the shoulder of Captain Mitchell in third person, but when you zoom in you can still be in first-person shooting. The third-person mode but gives you a better picture of the environment and the enemies you've even faster in the eye. Also, everything looks a lot better from the outside.

Also it is a graphic and have changed over the first part. Everything just looks much nicer. The environments are bigger and sharper, the animations of the soldiers are perfect, the cutscenes very good and the Havoc engine 2 is used for realistic physics. One such enemy is very convincing death and sinks slowly into each other and has no transparent arms and legs suddenly through a wall to stabbing. When you shoot down a helicopter he runs hard first round because he's going to run with the rotor and then collapsed down into a breathtaking explosion.
A small drawback is that all Koreans look the same pads, same dark green uniform and the same gray beanie. Also they all have one AK-47 but shooting the enemy is definitely not boring because you always different mission objectives and the environment will always be different.

The sound of the game is less good. The voice-acting is still good but the sounds of the weapons and explosions sound just like a little bad
all around with your gun to shoot you. The music in the game is good and do its part contributes to the atmosphere.

Medal of Honor Rising Sun Review

Written by Blackjack on Sunday, 20 September 2009 10:32.

On December 7, 1941, the American fleet in Pearl Harbor attacked by one of the most amazing military operations ever. Thousands of Japanese bombs found their target in the port. This conflicts directly with America in the Second World War. America did not in itself and turned against the attack. An interesting bit of history on which to base a game, so EA has also thought when told their new title Medal of Honor: Rising Sun were released

The game opens in spectacular fashion when the air raid siren goes off and nothing you can do when flights. Dressed in the body of Joseph Griffin you work your way through the ship looking for the exit. Banging pipes, fires and fierce look are lying around on your path. If you end up on the deck, you are overwhelmed with action all around you are sinking ships and the air is filled with Japanese fighter planes. With heavy artillery shoot you one to another enemy from the air. These first scenes were really overpowering, this kind of action you doing playing games.

When the Japanese were expelled America sends its troops from the attack to work. As a soldier in question off your trip to the Pacific, where the rest of the game will play away. Nice for once to do some different environments! For example, the Pacific a number of swamps, jungles, villages and bring you include a visit to Manila, Guadalcanal, and Singapore. In all, 8 different play levels that in turn consist of several missions.

The game also includes an online option! This option is quite simple in design but this certainly no less fun. You choose a room to play and you're ready to progress. The gameplay will not slow down because you 2 seconds after you're shot down again appears. The online option is not made for the hardcore gamer, but for everyone in between blasting a jar will do.

Besides the online bidding the game also features a multiplayer option. This is a Co-op mode that you and your friend can start attacking the enemy. Do you prefer an enemy with little more intelligence? Then there is the potential to play against each other to take.

Graphically, the game is acceptable for and does not in the previous sections. While the PS2 version here and there again in what has come to make it visually quite well in the paint.

Medal of Honor Frontline Review

Written by Blackjack on Saturday, 19 September 2009 19:49.

There are many games that take place against the backdrop of the Second World War, but there have been a lot less WWII games that really worth to play. But in the case of the Medal of Honor titles that Electronic Arts has so far released the games market, we can at least say that they are really worth.

Most of MoH Frontline takes place during one of the most audacious offensives of the Allies during the Second World War, namely Operation Market Garden. History connoisseurs will recall that during that infamous transaction allies defeated a little so the war on European soil have briefly went on. In Medal of Honor Frontline take on the role of Lieutenant Jimmy Patterson, who single-handedly trying to infiltrate the German frontline and mandated a prototype of the HO-IX to steal a jet that the war a very different and negative turn could give the benefit of the Nazis. Firepower alone is not enough for Patterson to get behind the enemy lines to get, because "stealth" (stealth) and sabotage are key elements to succeed in this shooter.

The MoH Frontline first mission, storming of Omaha Beach in Normandy by the Allied forces (think Saving Private Ryan) that is the legendary D-Day on June 6, 1944. In this opening level you find yourself as a soldier in a Barnes and small transport boat shows in the impressive intro movie many boats destroyed by German bombers, while a few moments later, just before reaching the coast your boat explodes, which Barnes and his fellow soldiers in the water ends up. Many Allied soldiers are still in the water affected by enemy fire, but Barnes and saves it gets later as the commander of his mission to four other fighters allied to the unbroken coast to bring the risk of losing his own life of course. This first mission throws you right in the middle of powerful artillery explosions, bombings and many with Nazi soldiers firing machine guns and by the time you reach your colleagues and looking for cover behind the seawall, you will have many perilous moments have passed. The opening level in Frontline fantastic way to move the tone for the rest of the game and shows fully to what the engine of this shooter in graphics and sound level in all state.

Also the multiplayer of this game is very intense and good! It got hours and hours of fun!'
With 4 players in splitscreen! (See below)

Medal of Honor European Assault

Written by Blackjack on Saturday, 19 September 2009 14:14.

Commend my platoon, which consists of three soldiers. I hear the bullets flying around me and see how men fall dead from the non-ending hail of bullets from the Germans. Now and then I venture to my crate to come from behind to try to hit a German, but it is difficult. It was a cold night and we write the year 1942. I, William Holt, serving with the U.S. Office of Strategic Services, "then me with my squad from our live show to save this French city, but it does not look good ... Will you play me like this could get uncomfortable situation?

Once you've started the game you're greeted by a menu that was created in an old style. You can compare with old films, where those lines by the constant screen. This taste the atmosphere of the game immediately and you will surely want to some Germans in the pan to cut. This atmosphere remains constantly present. Before you begin a level you really see from the WWII movie that tells what happened there, this is also back in the game. If you are in a mission in Russia and is told in advance that people really had no chance against the Germans, but they still wanted to defend their territory. In this level you get, therefore, instead of soldiers, armed civilians on the road.

The single player campaign is only a mode where you and William Holt fighting the German troops will go. You play in four areas during WWII actually fought, namely (in order) France, North Africa, Russia and Belgium. Each of these areas comprises a number of missions in which there are eleven.
The goals of the missions start at a given time to be monotonous.
You have a mission when you start a headline and two sub-goals. The main objective will often "blow this or that" or "find a way out". The sub-goals are usually 'death a senior SS officer' (which are stronger than other soldiers) and 'find secret documents ". While you play you get there with sub-goals that you can play to get an extra life. The main goal you should try to achieve the sub-goals do not and while you can also decide in which order you play them. For example you can look for a number of important documents, or continue on the same objective and that one missile blowing.

If you've played one level you will, depending on the number of sub-goals that you've played.
Have you managed to accomplish such goals all you get the gold medal.
You might think that this is a function. But no, there are no unlockables in the game so you really just a fictional medal is the sub-missions to do.
