Game Information

BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion is based on the brand new TV show of the same name from Nelvana and d-rights Inc., and features a new cast of characters taking on the continued battle between good and evil. Gingka, the hero, and his group of loyal friends rally against a dangerous group called the Dark Nebula. The series follows a group of competitors who vie to be the best at Beyblading, enhancing their Beyblades, and engaging in a series of thrilling adventures. The TV show will make its debut across Europe shortly, with announcements to follow.

HUDSON SOFT has developed bespoke Wii and Nintendo DS versions, and Konami has announced that each will come bundled with a special Beyblade toy from Hasbro. The Wii game will include a Counter Leone Beyblade, while the Nintendo DS version will house a Cyber Pegasus Beyblade. Both are exclusive with the video games and are not available anywhere else.

The BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion games arrive following an agreement between HUDSON SOFT and Corus Entertainment Inc.'s Nelvana Enterprises to develop and distribute video games based on the new boys' action TV series. The two games are being developed by HUDSON SOFT in Japan, and will feature gameplay elements perfectly targeted at the host hardware.

The Wii version of BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion features a complete game-specific story featuring original characters from the show. Players find themselves in the midst of a disappearance of the world's most powerful Beybladers and duly sucked into a giant fortress, where they must battle robot bladers and discover the mystery behind the abduction.

BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion boasts a challenging four-player 'Battle Mode' competition, wherein players face off against three other human or AI controlled enemies, or play co-operatively with allies. By using the Wii Remote, players can save and carry any blades they have created to friends' houses for competition. With customizable stadiums, players can choose from a variety of terrains and shapes for battle and use special attacks and winning strategies to emerge victorious.

Lost In Blue: Shipwrecked Game Info(Wii)

Written by igcompany on Thursday, 22 December 2011 13:49.

Game Information

Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked for Wii offers an all-new adventure and a new way to survive being stranded on a desert island. Retaining the self sufficiency theme that runs throughout the series, the Wii game centres on a rich boy Aidan and a waitress called Lucy who are forced to abandon their luxury liner when a fire breaks out. Thrown into the mix are petty thieves Gord and Fiona, who also wash up on the beach, and an uneasy alliance is formed as these different characters are forced to unite to survive; only to discover that they're not the first ones on their new found island...

Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked adds new depth to the series, as the fight for survival is given added realism via the use of the Nunchuk and Wii Remote controllers. Everything from making a fire, to hunting food and setting traps must be mastered, while exploration of the island gains additional detail via the use of switchable first and third-person views.

Also new to the Wii game are the addition of pets. Both Aidan and Lucy are washed ashore with their respective animals, and their skills prove essential on the island. Aidan is reunited with Hobo the Monkey, who hangs on his backpack and is useful for retrieving food from high places, while Lucy's faithful Collie, Max, has a sharp sense of smell and can dig up useful items for use later.

With multiple endings, a wealth of sub games, and a twisting plot that allows the game to be played as either Aidan, Lucy or Gord and Fiona, before the foursome eventually join forces, Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked brings its desert paradise to vibrant life through its varied gameplay and clever and adaptable control system.

Silent Hill - Shattered Memories Game Info(Wii)

Game Information

Konami reinvents its first Silent Hill classic, as Shattered Memories arrives to scare on Wii, PSP and PlayStation 2

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH is to bring its terrifying Silent Hill series to Wii as Silent Hill: Shattered Memories heads to the Nintendo system for the first time in 2010. The game, a clever reimagining of the now out of print first Silent Hill title, will also be released for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) and PlayStation®2 at the same time.

While the game shares its twisting plot with the original PlayStation game, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories takes a different path in many, many ways. Characters can be approached but will offer different responses and be found in different places, while new clues and gameplay paths can be followed. The title follows Harry Mason, as he attempts to unravel the mystery of his missing daughter, Cheryl. A broken man, Mason's investigations lead him to the mist-shrouded, snowy streets of Silent Hill: a malevolent town where the shadows play host to a wealth of evil, misshapen creatures.

Designed to make full use of the Wii's unique controllers, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories uses the Wii Remote as a torch and cell phone as Mason looks for clues. The torch is vital for scouring the darkened, abandoned buildings of Silent Hill, while the phone acts as a secondary user interface, allowing the player to access maps via its GPS capabilities and take pictures of interesting elements. Likewise, the Wii Remote also can be used to pick up, examine and manipulate items to solve puzzles along the journey. Such technology was not available when the original Silent Hill was released in 1999, and its inclusion showcases Konami's determination to enhance the playing experience with new, available technology.

Also new to Shattered Memories is a psyche profile element, which monitors every aspect of player's reactions - from where they explore first, items that have been examined, and their reaction to those they meet. Small visual elements will also be altered slightly, adding to the oppressing atmosphere where nothing is what it seems. The psyche profile will adapt Harry's actions as and when he meets normal-looking people or the game's many inhuman denizens.

While the PSP® and PlayStation®2 will feature a more familiar control system, both games will boast the new additions, and are certain to entrance hardened fans of Silent Hill and newcomers alike. All three games are being developed by Climax, the team behind the acclaimed Silent Hill: Origins for PSP® and PlayStation®2, and will also feature an all-new soundtrack by series creator Akira Yamaoka.

Calling Game Info(Wii)

Written by igcompany on Thursday, 22 December 2011 10:02.

Game Information

Witness a terrifying new take on the horror genre, in the form of Hudson Soft's CALLING for Wii. Using unique interaction elements, the Wii game features an innovative adventure concept and is driven by its terrifying story and many traps and mysteries. It will be distributed by Konami in early 2010.

CALLING brings new heights to the horror genre, with a breath-taking control system that immerses the player into its nightmare scenario. The player begins the game trapped in a strange room, with the Wii Remote doubling as the on-screen protagonist's mobile phone. Using a torch to scour the dimly-lit area, players will also receive mysterious calls to their handset, which are answered by raising the Wii Remote to their ear. From this simple basis, CALLING then ramps up the fear, as a ghostly voice speaks directly to the user!

The story revolved around the urban legend of the 'Page of Black' website. Rumour has it that anyone accessing the site will die from a coma brought on by an unknown cause. The site is a simple black page with a numeric counter in the centre, but is linked to a low-key chat room. Not everyone can enter the chat room, but on doing so, the player's psyche starts to receive calls from 'Abyss'. They then enter a state of limbo in a place known as 'Border' which is seemingly located between life and death.

There are several areas in the 'Border', and they are inhabited by Spirits which start contacting its various feelings via the user's mobile phone. Occasionally, these spirits will also attack the player. As such, while avoiding their attacks, the user must attempt to solve the mysteries of 'Border' and has to seek an escape route.

CALLING is a horror title like no other. The fear generated by the received phone calls and the eerie location serve to create a tense, nightmarish situation. A clever mix of exploration and puzzle-solving is called into play, while the claustrophobic locations hide secrets and danger within their many shadows. From the moment the first, crackling call is received, CALLING will scare the player and make them wary of picking up the phone.
