With just a few days until E3, Konami announced a pre E3 video to be released tomorrow. After we exclusively presented you the first PES 2013 Screenshots Konami posted a picture to announce the before E3 video. This one seems to be much 'real' and it pretty much seems with PES 2012. Until now Konami was the single company that was competing against EA and was bringing new features every year. It seems that now Konami is bringing the rhythm down and EA is getting the lead by far with it's new innovations (good or bad and now i'm thinking about the buggy Player Impact Engine, a technology that if it's going to be perfected will be making the FIFA series even better).
Of course from both companies we hear every year that new technologies will be introduced, new tactics, etc. but hardly some of them are true. PES is a cool game to play because it's a simulator and the way the players are moving is way closer to reality than FIFA. But that's kind of all. Very little licences, the only chapter where Konami managed to take EA's face is the licence for the UEFA Champions League and i have to say that they made a big hit with that.
Still Konami is struggling hard to bring new licensed teams in the game every year but the rhythm they are doing it is pretty low like i said and Konami needs to switch gears in order to do a good game and not to dissapoint the fans with the 'same game every year' effect. Also Konami will need a lot more in order to compete with EA.
I have been playing FIFA games since i've got my first computer. I have been playing FIFA 2002 and since then i've tried almost all of the FIFA games. FIFA 2005 was my favourite one and since that game the franchise got a lot worse. Because of the PC piracy EA started not to care that much about the PC versions (which i play) and made legendary games for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. But still no improvements for PC. FIFA 06, 07 and 08 all looked the same. I started to get used to it and never thought they will bring that 'next gen' game from consoles to PC. But they did!
FIFA 12 was the first FIFA next gen for PC. Many players are saying that the PC version of FIFA 12 looks better on the computer. I made some big eyes when i heard that and after i checked out some videos of FIFA 12 on consoles it was confirmed! But after playing for a longer time FIFA 12 on PC it drove me crazy! It's not possible to put a game like that on the market. It's a disgrace for us, the fans of the series that are buying the game.
The Player Impact Engine makes the whole game look like a big fail. The players keep bumping into each other and the difficulty of the game is ireal. I've seen alot of positive reviews on the internet but in my opinion this deserves the credit only for the graphics. Yes they are the best from the entire series but FIFA 12 is i think the buggiest game i've ever played.
When i try to get the ball from a computer's striker, 2 defenders of mine bump into each other and the computer simply puts it into the net. And another thing that keeps happening. I shoot with full power being 6m away from the goal and the keeper keeps saving. It's like almost impossible to score when you are 1 vs 1. Once i was leading 2-0 and it was the 88th minute. The computer didn't have at least 1 shoot on goal. Suddenly he starts playing like crazy, dribbling all my players with just one player of his and (like 90% of his goals) puts a pass into the box from one of the sides and the striker simply puts it into the net. 2-1 in the 88th minute. The game starts again and he takes the ball away from me into one final attack. My goalkeeper (congratulations goalkeeper ... never thought you were capable of saving easy shoots) saves the shoot and i fully press the shoot button. But in the last moment a player of mine steps in front of the goalkeeper so he shoots the ball straight into that defender. The ball goes into the goal so the final score is 2-2. I mostly loose because of these glitches and the computer has only one way to score goals against you. Either he makes that 'dribble all the players and then take a cross into the box and then shoot' thing, either he is going to score against you from a penalty. The final match facts are always showing me: my team 20 shoots on goal and just one goal scored and computer's team 1 shoot one goal.
I developed a way to score goals just around the 16m area. The AI is almost inexistent so he can't figure it out that i'm scoring 90% of my goals in the same way.
I barely manage to finish around the third place at the end of the championship and that's at the 'pro' level. The whole game looks like a bunch of players that keep bumping into each other. I really hope that EA will fix this up. The game looks like an alpha version and the glitchy Player Impact Engine makes FIFA 12 impossible to play.
It seems that IO Interactive is shifting gears to get Hitman: Absolution closer to the release. After we've got several screenshots getting us even more hyped up, the developers of Hitman: Absolution decided to finally release the first gameplay trailer. Let's take a look at the trailer and then make a little preview of Hitman Absolution and figure out when it will come out.
Hitman: Absolution Gameplay Trailer
Hitman: Absolution Preview
The first rumours started to come out about three years ago (if we are not counting those that come out right after the release of Hitman: Blood Money). Since the screenshots and the official updates started to come out about a year ago we may be close to the release. Based on the latest updates we may see an official release date at E3 and this may be set around summer or fall.
The gameplay trailer is no fake as we are used to see from other gaming companies. The trailer features original gameplay sets. Hitman: Absolution is created by using IO INTERACTIVE'S new proprietary GLACIER 2™ technology. The game will be the most complex in the entire franchise as it features tens of takedown moves. Even if we are used to complete the mission by getting disguised and playing at least a half an hour we may be needed to make more than that in Hitman: Absolution to successfuly complete a mission. Not to mention of getting a perfect mission and getting all the extra rewards.
LE: They just announced that a major announcement is coming up on may 10th. This could be the release date announcement and the platforms that this game will come out on.
More updates to come out soon so make sure you stay tuned on igcent.com and sign up to be the first that finds out about them.
We once again got the right name for an upcoming game before it's official announcement. Black Ops 2 will be the next game in the Call of Duty franchise. But as not many would have expected the game will be set somewhere in the future, around the year 2025 mainly in Los Angeles as presented in the trailer.
A little bit about the Black Ops 2 Trailer
The guy that talks in the video is an older version of the main character in Black Ops I, Woods. And as he says: 'They always need man like us ... those willing to do what others cannot.'
So we may control the same character as in Black Ops I. Most of the comments around internet are about the time when the game is set. Is strange to make a sequel that happenes decades later. It's odd to play the first Black Ops set in the 60s and then play Black Ops II set in 2025. This is something that i didn't wished. Call of Duty is becoming something like Crysis. Play against bots and all that. Is this the time for other franchises to shine? Battlefield and maybe Crysis?
The graphics don't seem to be pretty much evolved, maybe they worked a little bit at the facial recognition system. As most of the players are saying: 'Almost the same game every year.' Is Activision adopting EA's strategy with sports games, concentrate on profit and not on user opinions?
Now i'm thinking maybe they got the name wrong. Except a few characters from Black Ops I maybe this should have been called Modern Warfare 4.
Black Ops 2 Release Date
This time we won't have to look pretty much or wait to long for a release date to be announced. We will only have to wait for the game to come out (if you are a fan of hi tech shooters). As Activision announced, Black Ops 2 will be available starting 11.13.2012.
Call of Duty is entering a gaming field that is owned by Crysis and onestly, with the graphics that Crysis has it's hard to beat that. Black Ops 2 getting released in november and four months after that Crysis 3 is coming out. I know you are thinking Crysis 3 would be a better alternative for hi tech first person shooter.
Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Trailer
Now that we covered all of that let's see the trailer:
Now a question: Should have been Black Ops 2 actually named Modern Warfare 4?
As Konami promised they released the debut trailer for PES 2013. It is not really a gameplay trailer as everybody would have expected and it's not even like the Crysis 3 trailer which has been released in the same day (i am sure if these two companies, EA and Konami knew that they are going to release trailers in the same day, one of them would have been delayed the trailer release date).
About the Debut Trailer for Pro Evolution Soccer 2013
In the debut trailer we can see the same player as in the announce trailer, Cristiano Ronaldo (presenting the features of a soccer game through a well known player is a good way in my opinion and also is a good marketing strategy). The most visible feature that will be introduced in PES 2013 is Player ID which takes me to EA's technology introduced in FIFA 12 which i also must say wasn't that obvious. I have hardly seen some good technologies in FIFA 12 other than the buggy Player Impact Engine which makes FIFA 12 one of the most annoying games ever. EA should have improved the technology for at least another year and then introduce it.
Let's hope Konami knows what it's doing and will bring a proper feature in PES 2013. As we can see in the trailer Cristiano Ronaldo runs the same in PES 2013 as he does it in real life.
If Konami succeeded on getting more licensed clubs and championships then PES 2013 will be a perfect game and will be a great competitor for EA's FIFA 13 which in the last years dissapointed.
PES 2013 Debut Trailer
Now let's take a look at the Debut Trailer for PES 2013 and after that let's make an analysis of it.
PES 2013 Information
Here are some more info about the technologies available in the game and presented (a little bit) in the trailer (taken from the official website):
1. PES FullControl (PES FC)
The term PES FullControl describes several new and improved features that give you even more control about the players and the ball in PES 2013.
Total Freedom of Control:
Pro Evolution Soccer introduced the concept of freedom of movement, the new ‘PES FC’ in PES 2013 goes further with total freedom over ball control.
Dynamic First Touch:
PES 2013 introduces subtle ways to receive the ball, from traps, gently lifting it past an attacker to run on to or a variety of other moves. First touch is everything and players can trap the ball using the R2 button, killing the speed of a well-hit pass and bringing it instantly under control, or using the momentum of the pass to turn a defender.
Full Manual Shooting and Full Manual Passing:
PES 2013 offers fully manual passing and for the first time ever manual shooting, allowing users to determine the height and power of each. Long low passes can be sent skimming across the pitch, while shooting the user has total control over where the shot is placed. Skill and precision are needed to master these, but passes can be made into open areas, allowing lone strikers to thrive, while offering an unrivalled variety in ways to score.
Full Manual Shooting and Full Manual Passing: PES 2013 offers fully manual passing and for the first time ever manual shooting.
The speed with which a player moves with the ball has been slowed in line with real matches, but using R2 allows players to add various styles to their close control. Players can vary the speed of their dribbling, and cushion the ball as they move freely within a 360-degree circle. The new system allows players to knock a ball past a player and collect it, nutmeg them, or hold up play by shielding the ball as team mates find space and make runs.
Full Manual One-Two:
Active one-two passes can be made, with the second player being moved in any direction), facilitating various tactical movements.
Countering the attacking options the new dribbling system offers, is a beautifully-balanced defence system. Players can use R2 and X to slow an attack, with a double-tap of the X button prompting a perfectly-timed challenge. Full 360-degree control means that players can check runs and steal the ball from a parallel position, while the individuality element will see world renowned defenders using aerial dominance of physicality to win the ball.
Even the game’s ‘keepers benefit from more control, while their distribution is more precise thanks to the addition of a power gauge when they throw the ball, creating opportunities for new, quicker counter attacks.
2. Player ID
Player ID focuses on the individual elements and movements that each player boasts:
The very best players in PES 2013 will be instantly recognisable via incredible likeness and signature attributes, skills and tricks that bring them to life. The way they run, turn, trap and move the ball, shape to shoot and even celebrate will be noticeably different during play.
The way they run, turn, trap and move the ball, shape to shoot and even celebrate will be noticeably different during play.
Individuality to Goalkeepers:
The individuality of movement has also been extended to between the posts. Goal keeping has been totally invigorated via new animations and play styles.
New varieties of saves and reactions have been added to ensure the game’s ‘keepers are in line with the efforts of real shot stoppers. This level of realism also extends to the game’s top-rated goal keepers, with their moves to close attacks down, fling themselves to tip a shot past the post, and in-goal acrobatics benefiting from all new animations and AI.
3. ProActive AI
ProActive AI unites the control and realism, with players that will respond and find space as befits those at the top of their game:
Balance of Play:
The development team has worked closely with the PES fan base to eradicate any illogical elements to the way players move and run in PES 2013, with the ‘ProActive AI’ system enhancing the speed and balance resulting in a more realistic game experience.
The balance of play has also been enhanced in the play between defences and the front line, with greater organisation as the teams track back or pelt forward, setting a harder to beat defensive line, teams adjusting faster to ball gain or loss, allowing for quicker counters.
The development team has worked hard with real keepers to ensure the AI decision process has been vastly improved.
Improvements to the goal keepers was voted the key advancement football fans wanted to see in PES 2013, and the team has worked hard with real keepers to ensure the AI decision process has been vastly improved. Keepers now espond with better reactions, clear their lines more effectively and push the ball savely out of play rather than into dangerous areas.
4. Better connectivity and atmosphere
PES 2013 will also boast better connectivity and atmosphere.
The popular myPES application will extend the connectivity and communication between Facebook-using PES fans, while the game’s audio effects are being tied closer to the on-field action to provide the kind of buzz seen at top-tier matches, with crowds growing in excitement as their team starts to exert pressure.
The game’s audio effects are being tied closer to the on-field action.
As we are used and as Konami announces on their official website the game will be released this autumn. Since PES 2012 has been released at the end of september we can expect Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 to be released around the same time.
